Peach

In ancient China, the juicy flesh bursting from the peach's lightly fuzzed skin was believed to hold magical properties. In Japan, blushing brides hold peach blossoms in celebration of fertility. Poet William Fahey compared the ripe, cleft, pink fruits to the plunge of cleavage so worshipped in the paintings of the French Impressionist, Renoir.

But the peach's finest attributes are actually in its kiss, so to speak. Packed with vitamins and primary nutrients, peaches offer potassium, phosphorus, iron, Vitamins A and C, all key ingredients to enhance “performance.” Vitamin A is needed for healthy skin and hair which in itself may create an increased libido in humans. Since skin is the largest organ in humans this may be the connection between desire and the peach. The peach is a wonderful fruit for overall good health. The peach originated in China. The peach tree was thought to be the “tree of life” among ancient Chinese. Chinese brides still today carry its blossom in their bouquets. Alexandra the Great once again discovered this fruit as well and gave it to the Greeks. From this point it worked its way westward. China is still the leading producer of peaches in the world. California grows most of the peaches in the United States. Have touchable skin and eat your peaches!
